Physics Fundamentals ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website physicsfundamentals.org. Every article, calculator, game, and diagram on this site is original work, created and reviewed by our own team. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect the same in return. This policy explains how to report content on our site that you believe infringes your copyright, and the process we follow in response, under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content hosted on physicsfundamentals.org infringes a copyright you own or control, you may submit a written notice to our designated agent (contact details below). To be effective, your notice must include substantially the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works.
Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (such as the specific URL) that we can locate it on our site.
Your contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices that don't substantially meet these requirements may not receive a response. We recommend consulting the full text of 17 U.S.C. § 512 or seeking legal advice if you're unsure how to prepare a valid notice.

What Happens After We Receive a Valid Notice

Upon receiving a notice that substantially complies with the requirements above, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material identified as infringing, and will make a good-faith effort to notify the user or party responsible for the content, where applicable.

Counter-Notification

If you believe material we removed (or to which we disabled access) is not infringing, or that you have authorization from the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or the law to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated agent above. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), a valid counter-notice must include:

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and its location before removal.
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may reinstate the removed material within 10–14 business days unless the original complaining party first informs us that they have filed a court action seeking a court order to restrain the alleged infringer from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances, we will disable or terminate the accounts of, or otherwise restrict access to our site for, users or contributors who are determined to be repeat infringers.

Misrepresentations

Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed or disabled by mistake, may be liable for damages.
