The Kennedy Space Centre on Google Street View Treks
September 27, 2013
The Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, has been the launch site for every NASA human space flight. Many rockets are launched every year, and anyone is allowed to watch the launches. At the Kennedy Space Centre you can walk in the footsteps of astronauts. You can visit the rocket garden and sit inside some of the crew capsules from previously used rockets. You can have lunch with an astronaut and ask them your burning questions. There is even a simulator which allows you to experience what it's like inside a rocket during lift off.
Last year I was lucky enough to visit the Kennedy Space Centre, and I recommend going to everyone! However, if you live in the UK, like me, it is quite a long way to go, and if you can't visit then this is the next best alternative. With Google street view treks you can move through parts of the facility at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.
With a total of 6000 panoramic views of the site you can explore the Saturn V rocket and the Endeavour space shuttle. You can check out the various space suits onshow, see if you can find Neil Armstrong's suit. Follow the link and see what you can find.
